Tripole rucksack: The best rucksack for trekkers & travellers

This is not just a review of the tripole rucksack that I use while travelling. It is also a story of how my love and hate relationship with this rucksack began.

I am not a person who likes lifting a lot of weight on my shoulders. I love suitcases with trolley wheels. Because I can pack as much as I want and then glide smoothly anywhere I want.

But I realised that my suitcase is good for travelling through airports but not a good fit while using public transport or hitchhiking in India.

After much consideration and thought to this requirement I decided to buy a good sturdy rucksack for my journey in India. I searched and looked for many rucksacks and brands online. And then one of my traveller friends who has backpacked across India recommended me to buy a rucksack by Tripole gears. This is how my love and hate relationship with my rucksack began.

Pros

• Good load balancing with the waist strap and chest strap.
• The ergonomic design makes carrying it comfortable.
• The aluminium rod at the centre on the backside gives a good frame.

Cons

• No locking system as the main compartment doesn’t have chains.
• Fewer compartments or pockets inside.
• No wheels 🙂

My Packing fails

For the first part of my 2200+ km tour within Maharashtra in India, I overpacked my rucksack. Like any other girl, it was hard for me to choose which clothes and accessories to carry and which to leave behind at my home. I ended up carrying an overpacked rucksack for 17 days for the first part of my journey. After 10 days I had started to hate my rucksack due to its excessive weight. After a point, I couldn’t even think of picking it up. I never intended to come back to my home in Pune. But I came back to lighten my rucksack and also to meet my parents.

Despite the overload, all the stitches of the rucksack are intact. Except for on side belt which ripped in my hands as I pulled the rucksack with it. Apart from that, I must say the rucksack’s material and build is quite sturdy and it serves my purpose.

Update: They fixed the side strap under the warranty period. I am so happy with their customer service.

Load Balancing

I was new to carrying so much weight, especially below my waist. But I managed to do it due to the genius design of the waist strap which helps in load balancing. Most of the weight of the rucksack lands on the hips with these straps so that your shoulders don’t suffer much.

Adjustable straps

The back straps are adjustable. Actually, everything can be adjusted as per your body shape and size. These belts and straps can balance all the weight and they help you carry it with lesser efforts. The chest strap adds further load balancing and gives us flexibility in movements.

Frame and Build

There is an aluminium rod inside at the back of this rucksack which gives strength and builds a proper frame of the sack. Apart from that, there is soft padding on the back which makes carrying the rucksack easier. And the fabric at the back is breathable so you can avoid sweating while carrying the rucksack.

Additional items

More items like a Yoga mat, hiking or trekking poles can be adjusted and strapped to the bag at the top and on the sides. The extra straps on the sides provide a possibility of strapping more items or necessary things to carry along easily. And the compartment at the bottom is the best place to store footwear and wet or soiled clothes.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I loved this rucksack as it helped me walk and travel faster with better flexibility. And its sturdy build and quality at this price is something that still amazes me.

But there could be additional features like a front zip which helps in reaching out to the items at the very end of the rucksack faster.

Another addition that I would applaud is having wheels at the base of this rucksack. This would make carrying it easier whenever smooth roads are available.
