I had a 24 Karat Gold Coffee at the top of Burj Khalifa in Dubai

Do you want to know what gold coffee tastes like? Then Habibi come to Dubayy! This post is about my solo breakfast date on the 122nd floor inside the Burj Khalifa! The time when I had an actual 24-karat gold coffee in Dubai.

Ever since I started working and living in Dubai, the tallest building in the world – the Burj Khalifa fascinated and inspired me every single day. I had always dreamt of one day going inside and standing at the windows and looking down upon the pretty little world below.

So, when it was my 26th birthday, I decided to celebrate it at the Atmosphere restaurant inside the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

At the Top of Burj Khalifa

Most of the tourists in Dubai visit At the Top – Burj Khalifa, when they decide to go to the top of the tallest skyscraper in the world. While At the Top observatory is located on the 124th floor and offers stunning views of the entire Dubai, it doesn’t offer a cozy and luxurious dining experience. Moreover, it is often overrun with tourists, and you will be struggling to find a nice quiet corner for yourself to enjoy the amazing views.

Atmosphere Dubai Burj Khalifa

Just 2 floors below, on the 122nd floor, the Atmosphere restaurant, offers almost the same views but with a twist of an amazing fine dining experience and a bar. When I heard that they also serve a 24 Karat Gold cappuccino I finally decided to go and experience this myself. After all, having a Gold Coffee in Dubai was at the top of my bucket list for several years. Moreover, this restaurant perfectly combines two of my much-awaited adventures, going to the top of Burj Khalifa and having a Gold coffee in Dubai.

24 Karat Gold Capaccino in Dubai

You must be wondering what in the world is exactly gold coffee and how is it even possible to eat Gold? Well, first of all, anything is actually possible in Dubai. And this Gold Cappuccino is basically a simple cappuccino, topped with a 24 Karat edible Gold leaf and a nice glittering sweet sugar biscuit. They serve it with two super tiny bun kinda things.

Apart from their celebratory coffee, their menu also has several dishes from European and Continental cuisine, that are made using the finest internationally sourced ingredients.

I had their pastry platter, which goes well along with this Gold Coffee. It included croissants, berries tart, dates mousse cake, dry fruits cake, and coconut chia pudding with a side of my favorite orange marmalade. Yeah you are right, it was a lot of sweet, but remember I am a Marwadi after all, so it was all good for a celebration.

Inside the Atmosphere restaurant

While the interiors are subtle and beautiful, you are offered a seat at the table next to the glass windows, from where you can see the Dubai fountains, the Dubai Mall, Burj Park, several other iconic buildings in Dubai, and also the entire Dubai desert lying silently behind this urban glittery buildings. It is definitely a lot to take in, and I am sure you will gasp like me, or gape wide-mouthed at your surroundings.

Celebrating my birthday

For the longest time in my life I never really splurged or celebrated my birthdays at all. After I had finished my coffee and breakfast, I casually told the waiter at the restaurant that I am celebrating my birthday today. And he asked me to just wait.

Then he brought me a small cake, with a candle and a note saying – Happy birthday Shraddha. They also gave me a small perfume bottle, as a memory. And I must say they made my birthday so much more special, just by this small gesture. This experience will be forever engraved in my heart. People celebrate all types of things here from a date to anniversaries to birthdays. Make sure you plan something special too!

Reservation & Minimum spending at the Atmosphere restaurant

You must reserve your table in advance from their website. There is a minimum spend required per person at this restaurant that changes depending on the time and window or non-window seat. Their breakfast in clouds option is definitely the cheapest available option. The evening high tea and dinner are much more expensive, but will definitely be a memorable experience, as the restaurant overlooks the Dubai fountains on the ground below.

Entrance to the Atmosphere restaurant in Dubai

The Atmosphere restaurant is connected to the Armani Hotel and residences from inside the Burj Khalifa. The entrance and exit to this restaurant are not from the Dubai Mall and it is also not connected to the Dubai metro exit. If you are planning to come here, it’s best to take a taxi to the Armani Hotel Residences.

Once I reached the entrance in my Taxi, they opened the taxi door for me and asked me where I wanted to go. When I told them about my reservation at the Atmosphere restaurant, I was immediately taken to the lift that goes up from inside the Armani Hotel. It was certainly a memorable experience.
